These terms are the agreement between you and MissionQual ("we", "us") for using missionqual.com, the Transition Guide and the MissionQual community. By using the site or creating an account, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. Questions go to hello@missionqual.com.
Who can use MissionQual
You must be at least 18 to create an account. You agree to give accurate information, to use your real name, and to keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens under your account. If you think someone else has used it, tell us right away.
What MissionQual is, and isn't
MissionQual shares information, jobs and a community to help people move from oil and gas and other industrial work into data center construction.
- We're not a staffing firm, recruiter or employer. We don't place people in jobs and we don't guarantee that you'll be hired, interviewed or paid any amount.
- Jobs are posted by other companies. We pick and summarize openings and link to the employer's own posting. We check links when we post them, but jobs close, change or turn out different from the posting. Check every detail with the employer before you apply, accept an offer, travel or quit a job. We're not part of any job you apply for.
- The information is general, not professional advice. Articles, the guide, pay ranges and community answers are based on our experience, members' experience and public sources. They aren't legal, tax, financial, safety or engineering advice. Pay and per diem rules depend on your situation. Check with a qualified professional before acting on them.
- Members' answers are their own. We don't check everything members post, and we're not responsible for advice another member gives you.
Community rules
The community works because people follow a few rules. When you post, you agree to:
- Use your real name and role. No fake profiles and no pretending to be someone else.
- Share nothing under NDA. No site drawings, photos, owner documents, security details or anything else you've agreed to keep confidential. Talk about the work, not the client's secrets. You're responsible for anything you post.
- No selling. No ads, courses, MLMs or recruiting in other members' threads. If you want to run a session or share an opportunity, email us first.
- Answer like a professional. No harassment, threats, discrimination or personal attacks. Disagree with the idea, not the person.
- Keep it legal. Nothing illegal, nothing that infringes someone else's rights, and no spam, scraping or attempts to break or misuse the site.
The full rules are at missionqual.com/community/rules. We may remove content, hide it, or suspend or close accounts that break these rules, at our discretion. If something breaks the rules, use the Report link and a moderator will look at it.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you post. By posting, you give MissionQual a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, store, display, copy and adapt it so we can run, show and improve the community and the site. For example, we may quote an anonymous answer in an article. This license continues after you delete your account, for posts that stay up without your name as described in our Privacy Policy.
You promise that you have the right to post what you post, and that it doesn't break any agreement you've signed with an employer, client or anyone else.
Our content
The site, the Transition Guide, our articles, the glossary, the design and the MissionQual name and logo belong to MissionQual. You may read, download and print them for your own use, and share links to them. You may not copy, sell, republish or train software on them without our written permission.
Third-party links
The site links to job postings, news articles and other sites we don't control. We're not responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices.
Ending your account
You can close your account at any time by emailing hello@missionqual.com. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if we're required to by law, or if we stop running the community. The sections on your content, disclaimers, limits on liability and disputes keep applying after your account is closed.
Disclaimers
MissionQual is provided "as is" and "as available". As far as the law allows, we give no guarantees about the site, the content or the jobs. That includes guarantees that they're accurate, complete, current, available without interruption, or fit for a particular purpose.
Limits on liability
As far as the law allows, MissionQual and its founders won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost pay, lost job opportunities, lost data or lost profits, arising from your use of the site, the content, any job listing or another member's content. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site is limited to $100.
Your responsibility
If your use of the site, or something you post, leads to a claim against MissionQual, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and losses from that claim. That includes posting confidential information you weren't allowed to share.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the site grows. We'll change the date at the top. For important changes, we'll email members or post a notice on the site before the change takes effect. If you keep using the site after that, you accept the new terms.
Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Harris County, Texas, and you and we agree to those courts. Before filing anything, please email us. Most problems can be sorted out with a conversation.
